My take on the mad tea party from Alice in Wonderland depicted below, is featured on the cover of this month’s edition of Flat White magazine.
I haven’t worked in watercolour in ages, but my friend, fellow illustrator Theo, inspired me to give the medium another go and I have been loving working with it. I have been particularly taken by the work of Ronald Searle and Quentin Blake the past few weeks, and also E.H. Shepard (The illustrator for the original Winnie The Pooh books and The Wind in the Willows) and John Tenniel. (The original Alice in Wonderland illustrator)
I have always loved children’s books, and I think watercolour really gives an illustration that classic children’s book feel.
